Taking water and electricity meter readings
In recent co-ownerships, apartments will usually be fitted with individual meters for electricity, water and gas. In addition, the client will always provide one or more meters for common parts. Once a year, these common meters will be read by the property administrator and included in the annual statement of costs.
A joint heating installation that provides both the hot water and the central heating for the whole building can often be found in older buildings. It is possible that the cold water consumption will also be supplied via a single common meter. Additional meters and meters on the radiators will then register the individual consumption per apartment. At the end of the working year, the consumption shown by these (digital) meters will be read – possibly remotely – and archived. An external company or Syncura will then include all this information on the individual statement for each co-owner.
